Orange Coast College Genetic Risk for Asthma Discussion

What are some interesting uses for genetic research?  To  answer this question, I would like you to research a current event that has utilized genetic research to solve a problem or answer some sort of question.  Follow these steps:

• Look to see if any of your group members have posted.  Make sure you select an article that is different from the article that anyone else selected.
• Locate a current event relating to genetic research that appeared in a newspaper or magazine article 
  • Genetic analysis must be the primary focus, which means that it will be mentioned in more than one sentence in the article.  Here’s an example of an acceptable article (this one can’t be used since it is my example!):  Scientists Say They Can Bring Back the Woolly Mammoths. But Maybe They Shouldn’t. by Scott Nueman on the NPR website 9/15/21.
