IWA Week 13: A Letter to the Future 

Prompt:

Imagine that you have been tasked to write a letter to someone in the future, someone who finds him or herself in Fort Worth in the year 3000. Your job is to describe for this person what you think an ethical response is to the people migrating through South America in hopes of finding asylum in the United States. In this letter, I want you to address two separate responses: one is what you think the US government response should be and the second is one of you as an individual situated in the US and aware of these people making their way toward our border.

In order to consider what ethical responses should be, you should identify at least two ethical theories we have studied this semester, including references to Peter Singer and his applied ethics.
