Boston University Religious Fundamentalism Essay

These first five weeks of this course have dealt with conceptual ideas about Extremism and with one specific form of it, Religious Fundamentalism.  This task asks you to take what you have learned and construct an essay that explores these topics.

 use our class readings and the material covered in our Zoom sessions and, in an essay, address the following related questions:

What key similarities and differences exist between the three religious traditions of Christianity, Islam, and Hinduism?

How do Religious Fundamentalisms use the ideas of “in-group” and “out-group” to further their particular interests?

Lastly, what makes these different forms of Religious Fundamentalism quintessentially “religious”?  In other words, what are the specific religious beliefs and values that define them?
