Chapter 8 Activity 5

5. Examine an RFP on www.grants.gov or beta.sam.gov.Assume that you were going to write a proposal in response to the RFP.What information do you learn from the RFP that would influence the way you write your proposal? Now research the proposal’s primary audience. How could you adapt your proposal to the audience?

Choose a request for proposal with which you can hypothetically respond to the text author’s directions and questions above.Utilize the following labeled sequence:

Part A:Display the actual request you have selected, and document its source using APA style.

Part B:Specifically respond to the information learned as stated above by the text author—in accordance with this chapter’s context.

Part C:On the basis of cited references, provide an insightful profile of the organization that would be your primary audience.

Part D:Respond to adaptation to audience as stated above by the text author.Indicate how your understanding ofthe “primary audience” would better enable a satisfactory reply to the invitation.

Ch. 9 Activity 3.

Three useful and contributory reference sources can suffice for your completed outline.Recall added guidance for a prior activity in chapter 2 involving the bottom-up outline:The bottom-up outline must separately label and display three stages:first, a thorough, initial free listing (akin to brainstorming—include anything that might be considered); second, a categorization of the free list elements (may occasionally drop, add, or alter selected prior aspects to enhance/improve); and third, a proper sequencing of the categorized section that would most closely resemble the framework for a final document’s contents.

Ch. 9 Activity 6.

It’s advisable to select a dataset with a size, scope, and content that you can describe via divergent and convergent techniques—without misconstruing its relationships and intended meanings. The memorandum can display your selected dataset as an attachment; in addition, all or part can also be displayed within the memo as needed to clarify your juxtapositions.Do not be so overly “brief” as to lessen effectiveness of the message’s intent as stated by the text authors.

Ch. 10 Activity 2.

For rating, choose a site from which professional, business-oriented material is predominantly displayed.Within your report (memorandum format acceptable), introduce, insert, and interpret an appropriately labeled and titled table to exhibit and aid discussion of your rated listing.Display at least six rated attributes.Include references utilizing APA style for both the rated site and any other sites which informed your attribute selections.

Ch. 10 Activity 4.

Write an appropriate proposal in response to your selected RFP in Activity 5 from Chapter 8 (complete that activity first—appears on Canvas site as part of the current assignment).Since this is likely an external audience, either a letter format or report format may be used.Observe overall DOCS (including its underlying HATS, OABC, 5 C’s, and CLOUD) elements as presented throughout the PWS textbook chapters.

Georgia Institute of Technology Going Global Discussion

Description

How does an organization build a business model that allows it to go global? What factors do its leaders have to take into account? Are there examples of best practices? Be specific and give examples.

.

.

.

I also need a 1 paragraph (5-6 sentences) response to the following post:

Daniel post

Each global venture must globalize the best it has to offer or harness the best the globe has to offer. Every global venture will each have their own unique business model but success comes from using common best practices for executing on a global business model.

The first best practice and factor that a leader has to take into consideration is truly understanding the strategic gains you want from globalization. For example, leaders must define want exactly they want out of going global such as cost savings, market diversification, product innovation, etc. Leaders must also truly understand the reverse, what they don’t want to get out of globalization. Properly defining both helps build a business model and strategy to achieve the true gains needed.

The next best practice is tailoring the business model to the locations you serve. A substantial amount of tailoring is required to serve the local conditions of a global venture. Even those ventures that are trying to replicate a successful model elsewhere must tailor to local market conditions. Those market conditions can include social and governmental institutions, culture, consumer tastes and budgets, languages, etc. The text gives Blink Booking as an example of tailoring to market conditions. Blink Booking is the Spanish version of the Hotel Tonight business model and when it was brought to Spain, significant tailoring was needed to sell local hotels to sign up, tailor local advertising campaigns to attract local residents and finally make the platform available in multiple languages to attract guests from across the European market.

Partnerships that are cross-border are common in global ventures. Many national governments require foreign ventures to work with local companies. Partnerships give global ventures access to local attributes where they can be strategic together and compliment each other. Talent and funding are critical resources that local partners can provide. The text highlights Grab Taxi as an example of utilizing strategic partnerships. When it launched it apps in Southeast Asia, they partnered with large, powerful businesses in each country to help provide political clout, corruption protection, local financing and local market insights on customer behavior and needs.

Finally, utilizing cross-border networks to build a business model harness the benefits of ethnic and professional ties. Global ventures typically launch in the founders’ home country because they know the market, have connections, and speak the language. Starting in a foreign market would be difficult because you would need to understand culture, business environment, regulations, etc from the ground up and would be a barrier to entry and widen the margin of error.

ASU Leadership Training in Amazon Discussion

Description

Week 6: Lecture – Data Collection, Sensemaking and Draft Leadership Practices Assessment

By this time in your project, there is little to say except that the most important thing is to breathe deep and take a mindful approach to what is in front of you. If you feel a little overwhelmed, it is only because, yes, this project really is a significant amount of work to be doing in such a short amount of time. While the processes and assignments of this class have been designed to allow the greatest efficiency possible, there are still many balls in the air. We set aside two consecutive weeks to allow you to focus primarily on the two most challenging parts of the project, overall: the Leadership Practices Assessment (this week) and the Leadership Practices 2.0 (next week). In both weeks, the discussion is a place for sharing your thinking in a consolidated form (called Annotated Outline) while providing feedback to others. If ever there was a time to come together into a supportive community of practice, this is it!

Last week we discussed the need to reach conclusions and avoid the temptation to continuously add new questions, address recently discovered topics, and changing your work unless absolutely necessary. If, last week, you found that striking a balance between reflection and closure was difficult, then I am afraid that this week will present a similar challenge. Stay focused and concentrate on building that final document by writing anything you can. Like any major writing project, getting through that painful first draft is the knothole that is inescapable.

One reason to focus on the Leadership Practices Assessment this week is that it communicates the need to bring ABSOLUTE closure to that chapter of your research. While there will always be open-ended topics, it is time to draw a line in the sand or put a stake in the ground and simply go with what you have.

So now it is time to relax (yes, relax) and tell your story. When in doubt, go back to the Capstone Project Research Matrix and review your questions that have served as your touchstone all along. If feeling writers’ block because of the interrelationships you keep stumbling into, put those thoughts aside and write about from the perspective of the individual Areas of Leadership Practice, at least to start. Let it flow!

The assignment itself is very brief, and you are asked to share a draft of that assignment, however rough, with others for reflection and feedback.

Attached are my resources for my project based on past assignments i’ve submitted. I will also attached an example of how the assignment should be structured.

*** The project is Leadership training to improve Amazon’s general performance***

Locate any report or periodical article that contains at least two different graphical representations of data or use one of the supplied articles. Interpret the graphs and present your findings in a brief PowerPoint presentation (6-slides).

Business administrators and managers are often called upon to interpret data that analysts have provided to them. This requires an understanding of the data sources (when, where, and how data is collected; formatted or stored; and used), as well as what that data looks like and how it can be summarized. In this first assessment, you are asked to locate any report or periodical article used in a business context of interest to you that contains at least two different graphical representations of data. You will interpret the graphical data representations and present your findings in a brief PowerPoint deck as if you were presenting during a company meeting.

MKT 434 Alabama State University Data Driven Marketing Paper

Description

DATA ANALYSIS

Your manager wants to get up to speed on the Omaha new car market. You have been asked to create a brief highlighting local market auto trends over the past 5 years.

Students will take the provided data set (attached below) and analyze for meaning and insights. Your choice on how best to analyze the data (use the tool/tools of your choosing). Submit your findings and insights (any combination of data visualizations/text). The focus here is the practice analyzing a data set from start to finish.

Create a brief (you can do this as a summary document or mini paper) that is 3-6 pages (you want to make sure you’re providing enough information to be meaningful). Think about what information would be important for helping your manager understand this market (assume they don’t have any knowledge of the market). Be sure to apply data visualization best practices – select appropriate graphs, reduce clutter and make sure they effectively communicate the point you are trying to get across. Make sure you look at how the data is trending over the 5 years worth of data given (hint: this might be to help you look at a data set over time – like you would with the final project data set).

Do not start this assignment the day it is due. Good analysis takes some time! Sometimes my best ideas on how to tell the story or a different approach come to me hours or days after I’ve started an analysis. Sometimes those ideas just need a little time to bake in your brain!

Assignments will be graded on:

10 points – attention to detail and quality of writing – was the brief free of typos, data mistakes and grammar errors?

15 points – completeness and effort. Were all elements included and thoughtful, strategic effort shown?

25 points – summarization and analysis of data. Was the data presented in a compelling, accurate and impactful way? Did it tell a story? Was a 5 year trends presented at least once?

Omaha New Vehicle Registrations 2017-2021.xlsx (NOTE- I AM ALSO ATTACHING IT BELOW IN CASE THIS LINK DOES NOT WORK)

About the data: A new vehicle registration is recorded when a person registers their new vehicle in their county of residence. This information is not the same as a sale (a sale would be when a dealer sells the car) but is helpful at understanding sales when that information may not be publicly available.

DMA Map.gif

This map is provided to help you understand the geography of the data set. The data set consists of new car registrations from the highlighted yellow areas only (the Omaha DMA or designated market area).

MGT 510 Saudi Electronic Building a Multinational Soccer Enterprise Discussion

Description

Corporate diversification strategies raise a wide range of strategic management issues. For this week’s critical thinking assignment, read the case study found in your textbook: Case 16: Manchester City: Building a Multinational Soccer Enterprise, p.554 (in the textbook).

Remember, a case study is a puzzle to be solved, so before reading and answering the specific case and study questions, develop your proposed solution by following these five steps:

  1. Read the case study to identify the key issues and underlying issues. These issues are the principles and concepts of the course module, which apply to the situation described in the case study.
  2. Record the facts from the case study which are relevant to the principles and concepts of the module. The case may have extraneous information not relevant to the current module. Your ability to differentiate between relevant and irrelevant information is an important aspect of case analysis, as it will inform the focus of your answers.
  3. Describe in some detail the actions that would address or correct the situation.
  4. Consider how you would support your solution with examples from experience or current real-life examples or cases from textbooks.
  5. Complete this initial analysis and then read the discussion questions. Typically, you will already have the answers to the questions but with a broader consideration. At this point, you can add the details and/or analytical tools required to solve the case.

Case Study Questions:

  1. Under what circumstances can a company extend its competitive advantage from its home market to an overseas market? Issues concerning the transferability and replicability of the firm’s competitive advantage are critical here.
  2. What are the distinctive features of City Football’s strategy? What mode of foreign market entry should City Football adopt? Why? Again, issues of resources and capabilities and the need for local market knowledge, distribution, and political and business connections become critical here.
  3. What criteria can companies apply in deciding what new diversification to pursue and which should City Football apply in deciding?
  4. What changes in the financial structure, organizational structure and management systems would you recommend?

Your well-written paper should meet the following requirements:

  • Be 6-7 pages in length, which does not include the title page or required reference page, which are never a part of the content minimum requirements.
  • Use Saudi Electronic University academic writing standards and APA style guidelines.
  • Support your submission with course material concepts, principles, and theories from the textbook and at least two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles unless the assignment calls for more.
  • It is strongly encouraged that you submit all assignments into the Turnitin Originality Check before submitting it to your instructor for grading. If you are unsure how to submit an assignment into the Originality Check tool, review the Turnitin Originality Check—Student Guide for step-by-step instructions.

UO Communications Sports Events Discussion

Description

You need to write response to the 4 students each student at least 4 sentences or more. The questions that student write abou Read this article about trends in social media and sport. Pick one of those trends to discuss in a short post. Agree, disagree, complain, celebrate, give an example of, or make an argument about that trend
Student #1: Valuing women’s sports

This seems interesting to me. As women’s sport is becoming popular, that encourages more women to consider sport and gym in their daily routine. Additionally, women are more likely than men to like shopping. According to Money Crashers, “Despite near equality in numbers, according to Bloomberg, women make more than 85% of the consumer purchases in the United States, and reputedly influence over 95% of total goods and services purchased. Women as a whole are considered more sophisticated shoppers than men, taking longer to make a buying decision.” Therefore, choosing athlete woman to represent my brand is a smart idea because women also are more likely to care about their style and fashion. Popular stars must be considered so the brand can be seen by as many people as possible. The star would be selected depending on their popularity and number of followers.

Student #2: About posting in real time over the past 5-10 years in the rise of subscription based programs which as time goes by isn’t that much different then just getting regular channels. So when you see analytics on the lower views for live broadcast a lot of it isn’t looking at other sources. An example is the Oscar’s it shown that live viewing has went down considerably over the years but when they putting in their own YouTube channels of awards it gets millions of view in the matter of hours. Also the attention spans of people is getting shorter that makes people not want to watch 2-3 hours of people talking about awards they don’t care about they would want to get to the point of finding what they want here and now.

student #3:I agree with the trend of creating behind-the-scenes stories, and how it is a great strategy to increase the audience of your account. This Trend can allow the audience to see their favorite team, or athlete player’s actions behind the scene. This trend also, could give the audience a glimpse of new products, or shoots. Audience loves to connect with their athletes team, or athletes player, This trend helps them to get to know their athletes team more, their daily routine, their favorite drink, and etc. Posting behind the scene stories on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, and other platforms will keep the audience engaged.

BUS 310 Discrimination in The Workplace Unlawful Under the Law Essay

Description

David Perkins left a successful career in the NFL after two head injuries. For his safety, his doctors recommended he leave the sport if he wanted to live past the age of 30. David, not one who sits around without anything to do, decided to open a sports bar, The Wing Shack. After five years, the restaurant concept gained momentum and he was opening his fifth restaurant in the Michigan area. David is proud to be socially responsible while creating jobs in the community and feeding the homeless. If David is doing so well, he says in response to an unwarranted lawsuit, he shouldn’t be sitting in his attorney’s office spending money he could be using to help his community. David is being sued for discrimination by two waitresses from Roseville, Michigan: Mindy Simpson and Laura Walker. Simpson received positive performance evaluations and was promoted to shift supervisor within six months of being hired. In her last evaluation, Simpson, who is 5’8″, says she was advised by her manager to lose weight and join a gym. She was given 30 days to lose weight despite losing 13 pounds on her own after working on the job for two months. After the 30-day period expired and she did not lose the required weight, she was fired.

Walker, by contrast, is 4’10” and weighs 120 pounds, and she says she was put on weight probation and then fired even though she lost 20 pounds.

David gives his attorney his side of the story, “I run a successful business and pride myself on hiring women who fit the image of a sports bar. I give guidelines on my website about hair, eyes, skin, makeup, and exercise. All of my female wait staff have to attend image classes and pass the exam. Employees are hired based on the image they have when they are hired.”

Please respond to the following questions and give your reason for each position you share:

  • The women are suing because they are being fired for being too heavy. Is that illegal under state and federal law?
  • David’s claim is that the woman was fired because the image of Wing Shack, which is central to his business, allows him to discipline and fire waitresses for not maintaining the image he wants to uphold. Is that claim accurate?
  • Mindy further claims that since giving birth to her son, she has had problems maintaining her weight. In other words, having children changes a woman’s physique, making it more difficult to return to one’s pre-baby weight. Could she have a legal case on the basis of the Americans with Disabilities Act?
