SEU Human Resource Management Nawal Case Study

Question Description

I’m working on a management case study and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Read the case given and answer the questions:

Nawal was the first of her family to go to college and, after working in a reputed organization for a few years, she got into her first-choice graduate program. During her first semester, Nawal was seen as mature, professional, and well-organized. Concerns emerged during the spring semester; she seemed distracted when on campus and was absent from organization more days than she was present. She was working on a paper, but progress was slow, and in March  Nawal failed to turn in a draft on the date promised. Her advisor Dr. Hamed assumed that more structure was needed, so she began to set very explicit expectations for products with specific deadlines attached. During their meetings, Nawal was enthusiastic about her projects and eagerly promised to get the work done. However, the pattern of failing to deliver kept repeating itself. Finally, after an extended stretch when Nawal was absent from the organization  and had missed a deadline for a draft, Dr. Hamed called her in to ask if she was serious about her work. Nawal teared up and revealed that her mother was seriously ill, and she had been driving the three  hours back home every weekend for the last several months to help her family. She had thought it inappropriate to mention her family crisis, not wanting to acknowledge that her personal life was interfering with her graduate studies. She asked Dr. Hamed if she should withdraw from the program.

The Nature of The Research and The Researchers Preference Project

Description

Culminating Project Part V: Overall Research Approach and Final Product Description

Overall Research Approach: The overall research approach section includes a description of the research design that is most appropriate for the research study at hand. The choice for the research design depends on the nature of the research problem, the purpose of the study, and the research questions. Such methods may include quantitative, qualitative, or both.

Saunders et al (2016) lists the following research strategies: experiment, survey, archival and documentary research, case study, ethnography, action research, grounded theory, and narrative inquiry.

For the purpose of the doctoral project, the selected method would most likely be qualitative such as action research and may include program evaluation, training development, organizational survey development, or development and evaluation of a training manual for various teams or groups. It could also include a case study, narrative inquiry, or synthesis and analysis of existing literature relevant to the questions being studies, and so on.

This section also describes what needs to be done to achieve the goals of the project, including the description of the Product (e.g., evaluation program), participants, materials, and procedure.

For the purpose of this assignment consider the following:

Describe the overall approach to your doctoral project (e.g., inductive, deductive) and the research method/strategy you will choose (e.g., case study, organizational survey).

Provide a short description of the goals of your project and how the chosen method and strategy will address the management questions of interest.

Describe the potential product, participants, materials, and procedure.

Include references and in-text citations as appropriate.

Submit your work for evaluation and feedback

APA format and Grammar   VERY Important! teacher is Super demanding.

Universite De Paris Capital Budgeting Activity Worksheet

Description

In this Capital Budgeting Activity, you will be evaluating whether you should purchase a hybrid car or its gasoline-engine counterpart.  Select two car models that are similar, with one being a hybrid model and one being the non-hybrid model.  For example, the Honda Civic is available as a hybrid or a gasoline-engine model. Use the Federal Reserve Bank Prime Loan rateLinks to an external site. for your discount interest rate.  Assume that you plan on keeping your car for 10 years and that the resale value of both models will be negligible. Assume the loan period is for 10 years as well.

Research the cost of each model (include estimated taxes and title costs). Also, obtain an estimate of the miles-per-gallon fuel efficiency of each model.

Estimate the number of miles you drive each year. Also, estimate the costs of a gallon of fuel.

Given your previous estimate from 1 and 2, estimate the total cost of driving the hybrid model for one year. Also, estimate the total cost of driving the non-hybrid model for one year.  Calculate the savings offered by the hybrid model over the non-hybrid model.

Calculate the NPV of the hybrid model, using the annual fuel savings as the annual cash inflow for the 10 years you would own the car.

Compare the NPV of the hybrid model with cost of the cost of the gasoline-engine model. Which model has the lowest NPV?  From a financial standpoint, does the hybrid model make sense?

Now look at the payback period of the hybrid model. Use the difference between the cost of the hybrid model and the gasoline-engine model as the investment.  Use the annual fuel savings as the expected annual net cash inflow.  Ignoring the time value of money, how long does it take for the additional cost of the hybrid model to pay for itself through fuel savings?

What qualitative factors might affect your decision about which model to purchase?

ASU Marketing Case Study

Description

1. There are many possibilities for the reason as to why the google ads campaign for Orabrush was not successful. One possibility was because they were not a reputable or known brand and they were not using optimal keyword search optimization. Trying to sell through keyword search engine optimization does not work well if you are not a known brand because people are less likely to trust it. Using Google adwords was not a bad idea because of how many people use google and the amount of clicks it can potentially bring in, but, there was clearly something wrong with their website if it was only bringing in a conversion rate of .5%. A good conversion rate is said to be around two to five percent which theirs was cleary much below. So the poor development of their website or how they made it’s navigation was likely a contributing factor. This is support by the positive result of them optimizing the website for orabrush- Orabrush.com. Another possible reason for them doing so poorly using the Google Adwords is because when people are shopping for something on google they aren’t likely to order something online from a website that they don’t trust. Adding to a point made earlier they especially aren’t going to trust a website with their credit card information if it looks sketchy or low effort. One obvious reason for the poor traffic at the website came from the survey done by the students at BYU which led to the conclusion that only 8% of people had a propensity to shop for their oral hygiene products online. Although their conclusion that this is still a considerable size of the market is true it is another reason for the poor performance that Orabrush performed on Google Adwords.

THE QUESTION :

*If online advertising and sales were profitable, why did Jeff still want traditional retail distribution for the Orabrush?

UWE STYL4U Strategies to Mitigate COVID 19 Disruptions Paper

Description

You are a Graduate Business Analyst working for Styl4U plc (Styl4U). An organogram and business description of Styl4U is provided in Appendix B (pages 9-10). The President – Finance, Prerana Singh, has been asked by the Board of Directors to give a letter of advice as per the attached memo, Appendix A, on page 8 of this brief.

Prerana has tasked you to draft a reply that she can send, under her own name, with no amendment by her.

Your response should draw on reputable and reliable sources only (to be clear that means no unattributed internet sources quickly googled, so no ‘Anon’ references please). Academic articles, company or institutional sources, and professional sources are required following academic referencing conventions for this work. No marks will be given for sourcing your work from lecture slides or lecturer or tutor opinions or material, so please don’t do that. This is meant to be based on your independent research. The flip side is that credit will be given for genuine insight and communication skill, as would be required in a real exercise of this nature. A Director or Executive Manager would reject unreliable sources.

Your letter should cover as a minimum:

  • Answering the direct questions asked by Styl4U’s Board of Directors in their memo, replying in terms that an ‘informed non expert’ might understand. It should not be written using any technical or academic ‘jargon’ type language copied from your sources that is not phrased in the way you would normally speak to this type of forum. Rather you should use your sources to help you put things into your own words that communicate well to a busy executive and superior. The markers’ subjective informed judgements on the quality of the work in meeting client needs, using their extensive business experience of such projects, will form a key part of the marking process.
