You are an Operations Executive for JSH Limited, and you are planning to recommend some changes to your organization’s value chain process. Currently, JSH faces multiple delays in shipping orders to their customer base due to distribution errors and natural disasters, resulting in backlog orders of 90 days. With the delay in orders, customers are taking to social media outlets to complain publicly and provide poor ratings or reviews of the company and products. The CEO has requested that you pull together an assessment of the current state JSH’s value chain for an upcoming meeting with the Board of Directors.

In preparation for a meeting with the Board of Directors, you have been assigned to create a Needs Analysis Summary of JSH’s value chain for the meeting. The CEO has shared with you JSH’s last value chain analysis model as a starting off point.

INSTRUCTIONS

The needs analysis summary should contain a synopsis of your evaluation of JSH’s use of Porter’s Value Chain and Five-Forces Model in your value chain. The meeting will be your first interaction with the Board of Directors, so you want to ensure that the Board understands the organizational value chain management methodologies and the organization’s current state.

Create a report that summarizes and discusses your performance in the three rounds of play in the ERPSim Extended Manufacturing Game April 7. The report should be structured to include an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Like an executive summary, the report should act as a concise version of a larger report.

The introduction should be a generally summary of what’s to come. What place did your team come in? What role did you play in your team’s success? Ok, now entice the reader to want to keep reading, by promising to explain why, and by using what?

The body of your report should focus on the key performance indicator (KPI) for your role. Discuss the factors that explain the KPI and your performance, and prepare a “drill down” or  “drill across” analysis.

• Your report should contain at least 3 visualizations. The visualizations are an effective way to communicate a large amount of data (especially numeric), but you still need to explain why it’s relevant.
• The conclusion should wrap up the story and offer/summarize suggestions on how you would do things differently to improve your performance. You should also include at least two quantitative goals for your next game. 
• Most of you have played this game enough times that this report should write itself. Look at the KPI. What was your goal? Where did you end up? Why your actual performance deviated from your expectations? Create visualizations to support your explanations or arguments.

Transportation and logistics functions for forward and reverse logistics effect process life cycles. Some processes are better than others, for various reasons and in differing situations.

Write a three to five page APA formatted essay and describe differences in the transportation and logistics functions of reverse logistics. Base the differences on each category, transportation, and logistics, by describing situations where differences are apparent. Include how effective organization of human resources contributes to performance.
