1/ Effective teamwork requires good conflict-resolution skills. One of the key conflict-resolution skills involves focusing on “what” is right, rather than “who” is right. Construct a simple scenario of a disagreement that can occur between a captain and first officer and describe how using the key conflict-resolution skill of focusing on the “what” rather than the “who” would work in your scenario.

Find a paper topic that you are interested in that integrates federal aviation regulations in some fashion. This is to be a research paper that follows APA format, not an opinion paper. If you need ideas, visit www.ntsb.gov and find their “Most Wanted” list, the FAA website, and NASA’s Aviation Safety Reporting System website (ASRS). On the NASA ASRS website, click on the ASRS report sets and this should give you several good paper topics. Also, conducting a basic review of the latest aviation safety research will provide you with paper topics.

1. What is the selected business/organizaion? Give a brief company background, products, and location of headquarters.
2. How were the efforts led?  Did leadership in the company empower employees? and how?
3. What are tools/applications used in Lean Six Sigma implementation of this case?
4. What were the business results?  Was it in environmental improvements, was it in quality or costs, was it in delivery, etc.?
5. Conclusion and your recommendation. How the case can be improved for the better results; what is your proposed methods; and what tools/techniques can be applied in your method?
