Grand Canyon University Nursing Discussion

Question Description

I’m working on a nursing discussion question and need support to help me learn.

    • Epidemiology is the most important area of public health to me (or really, the area most of interest). I enjoy puzzles and problem-solving, as well as engaging with real-world data that has the potential to impact entire populations. The specialty is important to public health as a whole because understanding the etiology and distribution of health conditions in the community is the the beginning of addressing those causes and reducing the burden of disease in the population, thereby allowing individuals, families, and communities to live healthier lives. Given that the course is about population-based interventions, I would like to gain a better, practical, understanding of the planning, execution, and evaluation of such interventions, particularly with regard to epidemiology. I think the pandemic has provided an excellent opportunity to learn about epidemiology, though I would be interested in a more in-depth understanding of how a public health professional working in epidemiology might prepare an epidemiological intervention.

Wilmington University Week 6 Grant Sustainability Plan Paper

Description

Please submit your Grant sustainability plan and summary for instructor feedback – please note you are submitting this same assignment to the Week 6 Discussion Board as well for feedback from your classmates.

The sustainability plan describes how the project will be continued once the grant ends.  The resources found here show the many different ways a project can be sustained.  What we are looking for here is a plan for how you will work with the community to continue the good work you have started.  This should be in paragraph form and include what your plan will be to continue the project after the grant period is over.  One example of how a project can be sustained is in documenting all that you have done to start a project to ensure that others will know what steps are to be taken to carry out the project again in the future.

Miami Dade College Personal Bias Discussion

Question Description

I’m working on a nursing question and need guidance to help me learn.

Each person has his or her own personal history; that is, his or her collected experiences. Everything you have ever seen, heard, felt, learned, or experienced has lead to the development of this personal history. Factors that affect this history include your gender, race, age, ethnicity, culture, education, native language, and religion, to name a few. Collectively, these factors create the sum total of who you are as a person. Bias occurs when a person has a tendency towards a particular perspective or ideology (i.e. your personal history); after all, you see the world through your own eyes. To some extent, every person has a natural bias. However, if or when your personal bias interferes with your ability to be unprejudiced or objective – especially in your nursing practice – your biases can become problematic. In this discussion, you will have the opportunity to determine how strong your biases are.
