MN 568 Florida International University Sports Physicals Discussion

Description

Please reply to discussion below using APA 7th edition. Please use 3 peer reviewed journal references dated less than 4 years and 1 interactive question.Topic: Case Study

A 41-year-old male patient presents at the community walk-in clinic with complaints of severe elbow pain radiating into the forearm. His 13-year-old daughter is serving as a translator because her father is unable to speak English and understands only a few words in English. The daughter explains that he has been taking Tylenol to manage pain, but the pain is getting worse and is keeping him from working. You ask the daughter to describe the type of work her father does, and you notice she is hesitant to respond, first checking with her father. He responds, and she translates that he works in construction. Based on the response and the apparent concern, you suspect that the patient may be an undocumented worker. Further conversation reveals that several members of the family are working with the same local construction company.

Case Questions

  1. You suspect the pain reported as coming from the elbow and radiating down the forearm is caused by repetitive motions, perhaps indicating lateral epicondylitis. What can you do to confirm this diagnosis?
  2. While performing the physical examination, you ask the patient, through his daughter, if he has reported this injury to his employer, because the injury is most likely work-related. The daughter responded without consulting her father that this is an old injury that happened before he started working at his current place of employment. You could tell that she was becoming more distressed. What is the most likely explanation for her concern?
  3. Visual inspection reveals erythema around the affected area with no evidence of overlying skin lesions, scars, or deformities. What other assessments should you perform?
  4. How is lateral epicondylitis treated?
  5. When discussing possible treatment approaches, you notice that the patient is very worried and seems to suggest to his daughter that they should leave. The daughter begins trying to explain why they have to leave right away. What would you tell the patient and his daughter to help them feel comfortable staying for treatment?

San Diego State University Tablets vs Textbooks Paper

Description

This will be a claim of policy about technology. Choose a policy, rule or law regarding technology and argue for one side of it. You should identify counter-arguments and refute them. Essay will be five pages and you will use a minimum of three sources.

The essay will be a claim of policy on technology, meaning you will choose a policy, rule or law regarding technology and will argue for one side of it.
* You should mention the counter-argument(s); this helps to make you look objective. While you definitely want to address counter-arguments, you don’t want to give them so much weight that you undermine your own argument. Mention them and then refute them.
* The essay will be five pages; just get to page five. You should use a minimum of three sources.
* Paper must be in MLA format. You can look on Canvas under Modules and you will see a sample paper there as well as a sample Works Cited page. There are also some good websites to get answers to MLA questions; my favorite is probably OWL Purdue; it’s easy to use.
* The essay does not have to be five paragraphs, but that does work for the required length.
* In your introductory paragraph, have something interesting to state about the topic (statistic, quote or specific example) and use that as a lead-in to a CLEAR and DECLARATIVE thesis statement. I should know exactly what your argument is when I finish reading the introduction.
* Each body paragraph should begin with a clear topic sentence followed by strong supporting evidence. Do NOT begin or end body paragraphs with quotes; use your own words.
* Provide specific examples instead of hypotheticals or generalizations.
* ALWAYS cite your sources and do so in MLA format.
* The conclusion should tie the essay together.

SDSU Art Reflection Discussion

Description

2— Discuss this post and do you agree with it or not and why?The first art appropriation that stood out to me would be Jack Goldstein’s Metro Goldwin Mayer video loop. It was made in 1975 and I remember that during one of my art classes in high school, the video was brought up and played on the projector. I found it interesting at the time because I was expecting there to be the roar but there wasn’t any sound just the motion of the lion roaring. The second appropriation that stood out was Dara Birnbaum’s art piece “Technology/Transformation: Wonder Women” in 1978 – 1979. I grew up reading DC comic books and during this I noticed a lot of art focused on everyone looking and being super human. I feel that appropriation is just the immiations of art and is a huge part of art culture. There is a phrase ‘immatation is the biggest form of flattery” and what is art at it’s base other than an immitation of life. So I don’t mind the appropriation of art, in fact I welcome it. Many things can influence artists to create something and train their skill but eventually they hit a roadblock. I find that appropriation can be a different approach to improving one’s skills and finding a new source of inspiration. On the other hand inappropriate appropriation to me is another artist copying the work of another and attempting to pass it off as their own original work. In research documents, scientist cite work from their peers and I feel that artists are capable enough to a couple notes on this. I do not recall a time that inappropriate appropriation has ever upset me. Something that I would love to see to avoid situations like this would be stopping people from being sensitive about everything that didn’t fit in their version of reality. Nothing is perfect and people need to learn that. Honestly I would love to create a work of art that is super famous and have a reference piece in the background to show it had inspiration.

Jackson Katz, Violence Against Women – It’s a Men’s Issue TED

Tony Porter makes a call to men everywhere: Don’t “act like a man.” Telling powerful stories from his own life, he shows how this mentality, drummed into so many men and boys, can lead men to disrespect, mistreat and abuse women and each other.
