Macomb Community College Life Sentences Discussion

Description

Background Reminder: Writing Process Stages

Throughout the class, we’ve emphasized that a writer has to keep audience in mind when choosing information and arranging it in a paper. This week you get a chance to get feedback from your peers, so you’ll have a better sense of how another reader might view the ideas.

Directions for Discussion Question Response

Post two or three paragraphs that explain the proposal you are considering using in your Problem/Solution Research Paper. This might be your own thinking about the solution to the problem, or it might be an explanation of the solution proposed by someone else. (Be sure to document appropriately.) Indicate areas of the proposal that you think readers might have the hardest time accepting and why.

RU Remaining Calm Patient care Plan Case

Description

There are times when a nurse must provide care for a client who is agitated and verbally or physically aggressive. The client may be psychotic, but the nurse must, in each case, remain in control of his/her own feelings, and intervene in the most appropriate manner.

After watching a segment regarding a violent client at Bellevue Hospital, answer the questions below. It’s not necessary to critique the staff in the video, just think of how you might respond.

Violent Client at Bellevue Hosptial Video

Describe a time when a client was rude or verbally abusive to you. How did you react?

What skills were necessary to maintain a professional, caring, therapeutic relationship?

How did you best communicate with this client?

  • What did you learn from this experience?

University of South Florida Proofreading Techniques Discussion

Description

Use several proofreading techniques described in the videos and proofread your Literature Review.

For the initial discussion posts, tate the specific proofreading techniques you used (from the videos) and describe the mistakes you discovered.  Cut and paste examples from your paper to show the class exactly what your mistake was and how you fixed it.  Similar to the following example:
EXAMPLE: I used a scanning technique to review all in-text citations and noticed one citation was formatted like this (Smith and Jones, 2017), but should have been formatted like this (Smith & Jones, 2017) using the ampersand symbol.
The goal here is to learn how to effectively proofread AND help others learn how you applied the proofreading techniques.

  1. Attach your Literature Review to the initial discussion post.

SU Writing I Have a Dream Speech by Martin Luther King Jr Source Evaluation Essay

Description

Touchstone 2.1: Evaluate a Source

For this essay, you will select one of the sources you have found through your preliminary research about your research topic.

Source Selected: King Jr, M. L. (1963). I have a dream speech. Washington, DC, August, 28.

Which source you choose is up to you; however, it should be substantial enough that you will be able to talk about it at length, and intricate enough that it will keep you (and your reader) interested. Once you have chosen a source, you will evaluate the source on two levels:

  • Credibility: Using the information in this unit as a guide, evaluate the source’s authenticity and reliability.
  • Usefulness: Using a combination of summary and analysis, examine the source on a critical level.

Laborer’s Love Movie Analysis

Description

https://chinesefilmclassics.org/laborers-love-1922… (This is the film you need analysis)

You may choose to focus on any one of the films we have covered in this course. Study
and analyze that visual text carefully, decide what you want to say about it, and then
create a close reading of the film. In your discussion, you should elucidate the subject
matter, key themes and significance of the film, as well as the literary-cinematic
technique(s) the film-maker used to create this work of visual art. It is important to
understand the historical cultural context within which the film was created, and you may
consider the impact of specific scenes and cinematic techniques upon the viewer. You
must also engage and cite at least one relevant secondary scholarly source in your
discussion of the film.

Writing Influence of Beauty on Happiness and Success Paper

Description

research paper. The topic is  “a Persuasive Thesis Statement on Does beauty, in general, decide how much a person will be happy and successful in life?”

This is the rough thesis created for the paper: Though some believe that looks are not a factor to success and work ethic is the reason that certain people excel in life, beauty plays a big role in determining opportunities that can potentially lead to happiness. Attractive persons are more likely to be employed, obtain more pay, and receive better assessments, suggesting that there is a “pretty privilege” that occurs across all occupations. Generally beautiful people on social media, with little to no talent, gain wealth way beyond their less attractive counterparts due to their “following” online.
