Question Description
I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
The California Constitution mentions, Free exercise and enjoyment of religion without discrimination of preference [choice of belief] are guaranteed. This liberty of conscience does not excuse acts that are licentious [unchecked by morality] or inconsistent with the peace and safety of the State.
To what degree do you think that some of the cults we studied this week fall into this aspect of licentious acts? If so, why do you think these groups were allowed to flourish and grow and also were so successful in getting followers?
