Development proposal includes some interesting ideas – including the museum concept but needs a lot more detail on the specifics of the proposal. Report does a good job of identifying potential benefits of this type of project, but because there is not a lot of detail and it is not supported with information about the neighborhood context it’s difficult to connect the benefits to the proposal. Analysis would be much stronger if you used examples/case studies that are more relevant to the site and its context, additionally, it is difficult to tell where you have supported your claims because of the lack of citation.

I’m working on a writing discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

The California Constitution mentions, “Free exercise and enjoyment of religion without discrimination of preference [choice of belief] are guaranteed. This liberty of conscience does not excuse acts that are licentious [unchecked by morality] or inconsistent with the peace and safety of the State.”

To what degree do you think that some of the cults we studied this week fall into this aspect of “licentious acts”? If so, why do you think these groups were allowed to flourish and grow and also were so successful in getting followers?

Your first step will be to choose a particular controversy within your theme/topic that you believe is ripe for such an analysis. The key will be to find a topic that you are already quite knowledgeable about and that you believe demonstrates rhetorical concepts that you are. comfortable in explicating.
