Catholic University of America Family Systems Theory Discussion
Description
The objective of this assignment is for the student to demonstratethe ability to apply clinical theory to explain clients presenting issues andformulate a plan for intervention.
Assignment: Part 1: Using the case formulation from assignment 1, students will explain the presenting/target issue, using the concepts from ONE family theory (either structural family theory or emotional family systems theory). This should NOT be a restatement of the case, but rather provide an explanation of the issue using the theory and its concepts. Students must use at least identify, define, and apply four concepts from the theory in their case formulation, citing course readings. NOTE THAT FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT YOU NEED TO INCLUDE A GENOGRAM.
Part 2: Based on the case formulation, students will develop a treatment plan that includes two separate goals with 2 objectives per goal, and 3-5 tasks per goal (SEE Grady & Dombo (2016) for examples). These goals, objectives, and tasks, should be 1) consistent with the presenting problem, 2) consistent with the theory, and 3) be written in SMART format. The papers should be no more than 5 pages and include 5 course readings.
