CCSF Recommending the Book to an Audience Discussion

Choose one of the following topics.

1. Analyze how the setting, dialogue and allusions work to develop the novel’s plot. Hint: you might consider having a paragraph for each part of the plot triangle: the catalyst, rising action, climax, falling action, conclusion.
2. Analyze how the setting, dialogue and allusions work to develop one character in the novel. Hint: reflect back to the STEAL framework and use it to help you analyze your chosen character! You could have a paragraph for each part of the framework: Speech, Thoughts, Effect on others, Actions, Looks.
3. Argue: would you recommend this book? If so, to whom (please be specific–everyone is too general). Why? Please use an example of a setting, dialogue and allusion from the novel to support your ideas. Also, be sure to offer a counterargument or concession (Links to an external site.). Hint: think of a genuine audience and brainstorm why you think they would like this book. What reservations might they have about reading this book

Successful essays will:

• follow MLA style essay organization/development and format.
• include 2-3 reliable sources to support the thesis. These are sources the writer has found on their own (in other words, they can’t be from Canvas).
• include at least 5 body paragraphs (so at least 7 paragraphs total)
