Select a historic landscape site (can be from lecture or a site found on your own). Examine to communicate your research of the spatial and aesthetic framework of the landscape site you have chosen. Secondly, explore and share a “hidden” factor of infrastructure that is foundational to the landscape. (An example of infrastructure could be sharing the source of water to the Gardens of Versailles, or the pathway that is used by the slaves at Monticello and not the main entrance road to the plantation.) The intent of the paper is for you to understand the existing layers found behind the landscape and its awareness to applicability to meaning.

Compose your paper:

approximately two pages in length (1000 words and include)

  • Intro (+/- 150 words), existing visual landscape (350-400 words), hidden infrastructure (350-400 words) reflection and summation of your conclusion (+/- 150)

(2) two photos (include caption to each (worth 1 point to the rubric) that shares the applicability of your example.

  • Communicate its physical and temporal location, and the name of its owner/designer responsible.
  • Share your thoughts and applicability of the historic design concept that provides a better understanding of our relationship between humans and the landscape. This can address either aesthetic, cultural, ecological, or value and influence of mankind.
  • Provide three (3) supportive references (journals, books, persons, etc.) (do not include my lecture material) (do not use Wikipedia)
