Descartes Discussion

In 750-1000 words analyze a book or movie/streaming show (original Netflix or other subscription service program for example) in order to bring out the “appearance versus reality” theme that is common (yet different) to the thought of Plato and Descartes. 

Your audience is an “intelligent, unacquainted” reader. They need to know the following things:

*First you should clearly/accurately state the “appearance/reality” problem as expressed in the thinking of Plato and/or Descartes (citations/references expected).

*Next identify a book/show that you will connect to this idea in Plato/Descartes: What is the movie/show/other? What is the basic plot context and dramatic setting?

*What features of the movie illustrate aspects of the “appearance versus reality” theme as it occurs in the thought of Plato and Descartes? (Here you’ll need to cite Plato and Descartes too–our reader won’t be familiar with them either.)
