History Era of Reconstruction and Slavery Question

Explain how the condition of formerly enslaved people in the United States compared with that of freedpeople around the globe by 1877 – then make a connection between the era of Reconstruction to the current Black Lives Matter movement in the United States. 

You must use information from chapter 15 of “Give Me Liberty” for the historical portion of the essay. You may use your choice of reliable source or sources for information on the Black Lives Matter movement but you must cite your sources.
