Cultural influences have a role in influencing children’s concepts of death. In the United States, Christian beliefs have been the most pervasive and adults have typically avoided “death-talk” with children. Different cultures have various religious traditions and practices that have varying interpretations of dying, death, mourning, and the afterlife.
