1. Demonstrate an understanding of the definition of community and the relationship to psychology. 2. Identify and explain the various social problems and their psychological origins and solutions.

3. Explain the importance of roles for individuals and their communities.

For this assignment, students will address the following components in their presentation:

Choose a social problem and develop an analysis presentation that describes the various aspects of community psychology as related to this problem. Be sure to include the following:

(1) A brief discussion on what a community consists of and the relationship that psychology plays in developing a community.

(2) A discussion on the impact the social problem you chose has on the community, the psychological origins, and how to solve the

problem.

(3) A discussion on the various social roles of individuals and the impact of those roles on the community as related to the problem.

Be sure to include the appropriate key terms, concepts, and policies in your answer.

You will use the textbook as your guide, but you will also use outside research. Your presentation should be 10-15 minutes and include at least six (6) scholarly and academic sources. These sources should be referenced in your presentation as spoken citations, a minimum of six (6). Your textbook counts as one (1) source. Students will submit an outline with a References page following the guidelines for APA 7.
