n 1954, the Supreme Court ruled that segregated schools were unconstitutional. This began a struggle in many towns and states throughout the South to resist desegregating the schools. After reviewing the assigned sources: Please answer the following questions:

Why did the Supreme Court ruled that segregated schools were unconstitutional? Did this only apply to African American students? What were the major issues with desegregation? Was the ruling handed down in Brown v Board of Education a success?
