Vietnam Vets Return Home from War

When soldiers returned home from the Vietnam War, they were not met with ticker-tape parades and celebrations, as the veterans of World War II were.  In fact, it was often the opposite.  As an anti-war movement swept many parts of the nation, these veterans received much less than a hero’s welcome.  After reviewing the assigned sources, please answer the following questions:

What is your response to how they were treated?  Why do you believe they were treated this way and what role did the antiwar movement play?  How has our treatment of soldiers returning home from war changed?  Why?
