CJCU 415 Brandman University Criminal Justice Discussion

Resolve three of the following dilemmas using an ethical system.

1. I had a cousin on probation for his second DWI. No one in the family knows he is on probation. At a family gathering I saw the probationer drinking (more than one drink).
2. A friend from high school had a boyfriend on probation. The boyfriend had violated his conditions of probation and an M.T.R.P. (Motion to Revoke Probation) was filed in his case. The girlfriend wanted me to give her confidential information out of his file.
3. I was having dinner at a nice restaurant and the manager on duty happened to be on my caseload and offered me a free dinner and gave me basketball tickets to five games.
4. I discovered that the applicant was an illegal alien but had a family of four with a baby who was born with a defect. His wife did not work and he was the sole provider for the family. The dilemma was that if Immigration were contacted, the individual would be deported while his family stayed with no support.
5. Do I not collect fees from a client who is a single mother with three children because it would come out of her budget and mean she must neglect the needs of her children, or do I collect the fees and disregard the problems the client is struggling with, and alienate the client more?
