Modern Slavery

Go to the following website: http://slaveryfootprint.org/ and take the survey. Using your results, the readings on modern slavery, reflect on the issue of modern day slavery by answering the following questions. 

How does modern day slavery match or diverge from what your ideas of slavery and traditional notions of slavery? 

After taking the slavery footprint survey, what were your results? Were you surprised the results? What was most surprising about the results and why? What types of slavery are most likely to be part of the goods you consume? (You do not need the email results. You can use the number the survey gives you, then use the website, reading, and notes to speculate how that overall number is distributed.) 

Discuss, too, your general thoughts regarding the results.

Based on information from the readings, how would you rank slavery in relation to other social problems, including other human rights violations? Explain your reasoning.

How has globalization influenced the modern day sale and use of slaves? What actions, if any, would you suggest taking in response to this phenomenon? (In addition to drawing from course materials, you want to consider thoughtfully variables driving slavery, when you formulate your suggestions.)
