LC Impact of Social Psychology Literacy in Dispute Resolution Process Essay

Description

Papers should discuss not only psychology but also an application of such psychology to a particular aspect of communications theory, negotiations, dispute resolution, or lawyering.

The purpose of your paper is not just to discuss the psychology of conflict communication but to help use the course material to be a better lawyer or dispute resolver. Although I do not have to formally approve your paper topic, I find that students who check in with me often benefit.

Examples: (1) You can write a paper that expands upon an aspect of psychology/communication that was covered in the course and then discuss how that psychology/communication could help with various types of dispute resolution or lawyering—e.g., memory errors in police lineups; narcissistic personality disorder as a dynamic in entertainment industry disputes, etc. I am open to other formats and am happy to meet with you to brainstorm an approach.
