Description
This weeks scenario depicts an employee citing racial discrimination in her department and examines options for handling both victim and offender. While a campus leaders duty is to uphold the law, a good campus leader will turn a violation into an opportunity to develop an employees leadership skills and change a toxic environment.
After watching the video, choose the option you think best handles this situation and discuss with your classmates.

- Which solution did you choose initially?
- Was it different than the solution that the expert portrayed as the best choice?
- Did the expert raise issues or present pros and cons that surprised you, or was your perspective confirmed by the experts analysis?
- Do you disagree with the experts view, and if so, why?

You will need at least a rudimentary knowledge of the law to navigate basic processes at a college or university, which essentially is a microcosm of the society that constructed these rules of engagement. Such awareness will not only help you avoid litigation, but also contribute to creating a more just environment as an educative model for all on campus.
