Select a crime that interests you and create a 500 to 700-word paper (approximately 2 pages, 1-inch margins, 12pt font, double spaced) that:

Identifies the crime you selected, including an explanation of what deviant acts make it illegal. You are free to choose any crime that interests you, but it is suggested that you select one that is covered by the UCR.

Details the history of the crime. Where did it originate? Has it always been a crime?

Research the crime in the NIBRS database. Is it a violent crime or a property crime? Is it a Group A or Group B Crime? Why? Would it be considered a misdemeanor or felony in your state (identify the state)?
