UD Cash Flow Statement Assignment on Apple Cash Flow Statement Analysis Essay

Description

The assignment this week is to calculate and analyze a Cash Flow Statement

If you have not done the Cash Flow exercise now would be a good time to do it as it will greatly help you with the assignment. The assignment specifics are similar to the other financial exercises in Appendix B of your text book.

The assignment has two parts. Both parts involve using the Cash Flow Statement from Apple. See attachment.

Apple+Financials.pdf

Part one.

Using the Apple Cash Flow Statement, perform the following calculations. Create a table or spreadsheet for your answers that will show the formulas used in the calculations as well as the results.

2. Calculate the percentage change in each area for 2012 to 2013 and 2011 to 2012

Part two

Based on your results, answer the following two questions.

  1. What trends do you seed by looking at the Cash Flow Statement itself, the raw numbers? What are they telling you?
  2. Look at your percent of and percent change results. What are they telling you?

Note: Please use a formal cover page for this assignment to avoid deductions in this area.

The paper should include the following:

  1. Calculations. Show formulas and results. Grading will be based on using the correct formula and correct results. Note: the results of your calculations on this assignment might seem… odd, but trust your math skills.
  2. Analysis. Restate the questions and your responses. Grading will be based on your level of insight. As for volume, think about a two paragraphs per answer. Remember to cite sources if used in the write up.Your submission should be in MS Word. Embed spreadsheets (if any) in the document.

Children Self-Esteem Discussion

Description

Children’s self-esteem was highlighted in the chapter. It is an important trait. However, many in psychology believe that we may have taken this concept too far in our society. You may have heard of the self-esteem movement that states you can increase a child’s self-esteem through praising and complimenting them or having them compliment themselves, even in the absence of success on a task (e.g., “everybody gets a trophy”). In modern society, we now have schools without grades, t-ball games with no winning teams, high schools without valedictorians, etc. The rationale for these ideas stems from the assumption that those who do not achieve will feel bad about themselves. Now, watch the following two videos:

johnj2428. (2009, January 29). Feel Good About Failure 1 [Video]. YouTube.

johnj2428. (2009, January 29). Feel Good About Failure 2 [Video]. YouTube.

After watching the videos comment on your beliefs regarding this issue. Do you believe that self-esteem can be enhanced as highlighted in the videos? Do you have any issues with this assumption? Please make sure to reply to at least one other post. Always make sure to be polite and respectful when responding to another class-mates post!

Catholic University of America Effects of Vicarious Trauma on Social Workers Research Paper

Description

Research topic: The Effects of Vicarious Trauma on Social Workers

Abstract

Vicarious trauma, also known as secondary trauma, is an emotional residue experienced by caregivers who work closely with trauma victims such as accident survivors, among others. Therefore, these groups of people, particularly counselors and social workers, also experience trauma due to the nature of their work. Some of the signs of this condition include difficulty in sleeping, dreaming about the client’s experiences, anger, or irritation, to name just a few. Vicarious trauma has the following effects on social workers; avoidance of job responsibilities, decreased productivity, poor communications, poor relationships, among others that will be explored in this project. It is crucial to understand the effects of vicarious trauma on social workers so that necessary interventions are adopted to prevent the adverse effects of the condition.

Statement of the problem

Most scholars have attempted to study the effects of vicarious trauma on social workers. However, very few scholars have researched the intervention strategies that can be adopted to help social workers manage the condition. Therefore, this presents a research gap that this group project aims to address.

Research questions

  • What are the signs of vicarious trauma on social workers?
  • What are the effects of vicarious trauma on social workers?
  • How can social workers manage vicarious trauma?

Research objectives

  • To understand the signs of vicarious trauma on social workers
  • To assess the effects of vicarious trauma on social workers
  • To recommend intervention strategies for the management of vicarious trauma

Rules and Procedures for Computer Usage Discussion

Description

This week I would like you to think about rules and procedures for students to follow while working on the computer whether individually or in groups. Make these for a one computer classroom. Remember that if you do not convey the behavior you expect, the students will come up with their own ideas, so think about how you expect the students to behave before using the technology/computer, during its use, and after completing the use of any given digital device.

  1. Create a set of basic rules. Keep it concise and clear. You should list 5 rules. For example: No food or drinks at the computers.
  2. Create a set of procedures. Procedures explain what you expect. For example: When walking to or from the computer, students will do so quietly and quickly without disturbing the other students. You may have one for gathering materials needed. Think like a teacher or parent and be proactive with trying to head off trouble. If students know what you want and how you expect them to behave, the classroom runs much better and everyone is happier. You should need no more than 3 procedures for this assignment.

*This assignment will be included in your final portfolio submission so please use correct spelling and grammar.

View VoiceThread: Formative Assessment.

Review the Links.

Field Experience Tip: Arrange to meet with a local teacher in the grade level(s) and subject area(s) you plan to teach in. Find out how they use formative and summative assessments with their students. Ask to see examples of each. What are some tips the teacher has for creating high quality formative and summative assessments?

Initial Post:

Provide us with a lesson plan appropriate to the grade level and subject area you plan to teach. This can be a plan you have created on your own, or it can be one created by someone else. If you didn’t create the plan yourself, you need to properly cite the source and give credit to the author of the plan.

Create a formative assessment for this lesson plan.

Create a summative assessment for this lesson plan.

Tell us how you will use formative and summative assessment to make sure your students are meeting your learning objectives for this lesson.

  • Tell us what you will do if there are some students who do NOT do well on the formative assessment.
  • Tell us what you will do if there are some students who do EXTREMELY well on the formative assessment.

Tell us what you will do if there are some students who do NOT do well on the summative assessment.

  • What are some tips for making sure you are using high quality formative and summative assessments with your students?

GC Oceanography Worksheet

Description

You should only need the textbook and the module pages to answer these questions. Some questions do specify that you will need to find an external source to dive deeper into the subject. Be sure to pay attention to directions.

  • Discuss and compare the forces that are responsible for creating surface circulation in the oceans. Be sure to address in your answer the relationship between Ekman transport and geostrophic flow within a gyre. How does this relationship contribute to western intensification?
  • Explain what each variable in Newton’s Law of Gravitational Attraction means. Further, describe how this equation explains the differences between the sun and the moon’s contribution to tide-generating forces.
  • Thoroughly define and explain what a longshore current and a longshore drift are. Why are these concepts important to understand when discussing major issues, like beach starvation?
  • Describe, in detail, one topic you found interesting from this module. State what this fact/concept is and define/explain it. Further describe why you found it interesting and do a little bit of extra research into it. Find at least one external reference to cite in this question and include it in your reference list.
    • Be sure the in-text citations and reference list are formatted either APA or MLA
  • Yes, the textbook and module pages should be included in a reference list, along with any other references/resources you use. Make sure these are reliable resources, Wikipedia is NOT a reliable source.

Grossmont College Popular and Classical Music Questions

Description

Q.1) The Tan Dun piece directly above explores the use of water as an instrumental timbre. As you listen, write about this unique timbre. Which instances are most effective? How does the composer deal with water as a melodic and rhythmic device? Can you think of another example where an element like this has been used as an instrument?

Q.2) Much of David Lang’s output has bridged a gap between ‘popular’ and ‘classical’ music. In fact, he is a frequent collaborator with Bryce Dessner of the Brooklyn based band ‘The National.’ I’ve shared some of his music here in this page. After you’ve listened to this aria from his latest ‘opera,’ journal about the differences between this art music and popular music. Is there in fact a difference? How do you feel that this music is different than what is usually associated with ‘popular’ sounds? Can you imagine this type of music finding popular notoriety? Why or why not?https://drive.google.com/file/d/17DwmSNjbXW2k5cQR9…

Q.3) Using the tools that you’ve learned in studying the types of form in music, analyze ‘Mothership’ for form. What form is it? Is it a common form? Is it some sort of modified form? How do the improvised portions effect the form? Can you tell which parts are improvised while listening?

NSU Critical Evaluation of The Argument on Animal Rights Paper

Description

TOPICFor your final paper, choose one of the articles you read on your applied ethics topic (animal rights, euthanasia, or global poverty). Explain the author’s position on your topic, then – given what you’ve learned in the course – evaluate the author’s argument.

SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR STRUCTURING THE PAPER

This paper should be organized as a typical essay with an Introduction and a Conclusion, as well as including Part I and Part II as follows:

  • Part I: Explain the author’s argument in the article that you’ve chosen. In his/her view, what is the correct position to have on the applied ethics issue you chose? What are the reasons that he/she gives in support of his/her view?

    • If you agree with the author’s view, explain why the objection is not a problem for his/her view (i.e., respond to that objection on behalf of the author).
    • If you disagree with the author’s view, explain how the objection is problematic for his/her position.
